UPDATES FROM FILMING
These are key moments and shots of scenes that were taken during the filming of several scenes during Day 1 of filming, on this day, we decided to film the scenes of our Protagonist Mason, being followed around by an Antagonist agent, who was tracking him. It then climaxes with our Protagonist confronting the agent in an alleyway and finding out why he was being followed. All of these scenes were taken in and around Central London, where we strictly disallowed the use of prop guns, where we could be spotted and get in trouble, even if they are fake guns. So we decided to instead use hand-to-hand combat, which, whilst it could still draw the attention of the public, it wouldn't matter too much when they see people filming with a high quality camera. The shot that I particularly liked was the shot we used to reveal Sebastian following Dylan into the alleyway, who was infact, waiting for Sebastian to turn the corner, this highlights the intelligence of our main character, and how, even though he himself was being followed, managed to surprise the person who was hunting him. As the action sequences were done quite quickly, the punches did not have to connect, as I would edit the footage through fast paced editing and quick cuts, making it seem as if the punches connected. This makes the footage more realistic and believable to the audience.
You could see during the clips as I directed my peers into the shots that I wanted the camera-men to capture, as I had experience with filming before, I also took filming into my own hands, and decided to use the camera to film several scenes myself. As we did not have a steadycam on the day, we decided to instead use the tripod as a stabiliser, as it could be adjusted to a smaller scale and could be carried by both hands, which my peer Russell demonstrated.
