CASTING

This is a casting post, containing information on the actors I have chosen and the characters they will be acting.

Name: Dylan Bade

Character: Mason

Role: Protagonist

Dylan Bade is the person who I had chosen to lead the role of the main protagonist in my film production, he is of Asian descent and was born and raised in the East of London, which is perfect for the character that I had initially scripted with my peers in my script treatment for the film 'VIGIL'. Our main appeal of using Dylan as our main protagonist, was the fact that we were challenging the main stereotype of the main character being a white male. By having Dylan, we are able to appeal globally across the world through the Asian markets, and introduce something different to the existing mainstream markets.

Name: Sebastian S.

Character: Cade

Role: Antagonist

Sebastian is the person whom I had chosen to be the antagonist of my film production, VIGIL, Sebastian is of Polish descent, and he had no problem with playing the villain in our trailer. Sebastian conforms to the stereotypical appearance of a villain portrayed by mainstream films in Hollywood productions, as he is Eastern European. He is playing the part of a Government agent sent to eliminate Dylan, so casting the character as a person from a white ethnic background will conform to the stereotype of only white people who are able to attain these special jobs.

Other than these two actors, we also featured my peer, Russell as the protagonists friend. For the action sequence that appeared in the trailer, we also displayed several agents from different ethnic backgrounds, showing the underlings that Sebastian had at his disposal. The agents included Joshua Miralles, Richardson H, Hayden B, Colin C, and Wesley M.
