Summary of Key-Findings

From the research that I have conducted, there are six key points that I have collected that I should keep in mind to ensure that I produce a high-quality movie trailer. These six points are:

- 1) The use of colour grading, colour grading is the process of altering and enhancing the color of a motion picture, video image, or still image either electronically, photo-chemically or digitally. This can be done through software applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro respectively, the use of colour grading is powerful, as they can emphasise the emotions or feelings perceived in a scene.

- 2) The role of the protagonist and the characters involved, I have to make sure that the characters involved in my production feel real, as my project contains realistic social elements, the protagonist may feel some internal struggle or strife when encountering his or her problems, and will have to overcome them to move forward plot-wise. If the characters are weak, it will dampen the story and the production behind it.

- 3) Costume, after my peer had researched costume, I have to ensure that the apparel we choose for our characters are suitable. For example, Government agents should not be wearing informal clothing such as hoodies or tracksuits unless it is for a special reason (under-cover), they should instead be wearing more formal clothing such as suits, as this will allow a viewer to distinguish them from the ordinary populace. Having the right costume for the characters involved will allow my story to be more genuine.

- 4) The use of sound, the soundtrack I choose and the sound effects that I use have to all be appropriate for the scenes and sequences that I use them in. If the soundtrack I use does not relate to the scene or sequence it is used in, the viewer may get confused and feel like something is ominous, which is not the emotions that I want to convey within my movie project. As my film project is based on the action genre, loud gun shots, sudden drops, large bass, and a generally upbeat sequence (during the action scene) may prove vital.

- 5) Target audience, ensure that everything relates to the audience that we are targeting, (Males around the ages of 16-30) as our target audience is quite mature, we are able to include sensitive elements of violence that should otherwise be excluded from those of lower ages.

- 6) Location, the locations we choose are important, establishing a setting and letting the viewer know where the story is taking place will allow us to tell our story better. Misplaced locations will only make the scenes seem out of place or out of the ordinary.

All of these points need to be considered or at least thought about during production.
