ENIGMA PRODUCTION INTRO
This is the production intro that I have made for our company 'Enigma Entertainment' - the basis behind this intro was to emphasise the meaning of the word 'Enigma' which is "a person or a thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand"; so I thought that the best way to approach this idea was to make it seem as if the logo itself was glitching out, that way, it would give people who watch this intro the impression that our company asks puzzling questions.
To create this intro, I first had to create the logo itself, this was easily done through the use of Adobe Photoshop, where I could easily manipulate or create shapes using the pen tool, the main shape below the word 'ENIGMA' is an 'E' stylised in a really peculiar way. The 'E' itself can represent the word 'ENIGMA' or 'ENTERTAINMENT' and is presented in this way to look like a puzzle, linking back to the word 'enigma'. The text itself I found through dafont, it is called 'Tall Dark and Handsome.' and is a sans-serif font. I chose a sans-serif font due to the conventions normally associated with a sans-serif font as it is quite modern and professional, it also maintains the clean and crisp edges that I would want on my fonts.
had to choose between these two fonts, as one of them was more bold and blocky whilst the other was clean and thin. After asking several of my peers, I went with the option above, as they liked how the text contrasted with the width of the actual 'E' on the logo.
Once I created the logo, I had to use the program 'Adobe AfterEffects' to create the actual intro, I had received help from a YouTube tutorial that taught me how to use certain effects and achieve the glitch effect intro that I wanted. As I have no experience with using AfterEffects before, the video was a huge help as I was able to learn about the multitude of things that I could do on the program, like how layers work, how keyframes work, how certain effects require certain values to be inputted to work and how files can be imported (like my logo) into the program so I can edit and manipulate them. For the glitch effect, I had to download the free-stock royalty-free video 'Glitch Stock Footage' which is available for download by 'footageisland' on YouTube.
Overall, I have learnt a lot from making this intro, effects such as the RGB split which was featured in the intro I created will no-doubt be something that I remember to use in the future when I want to replicate the same effect. This experience has also helped me improve my knowledge on the program 'Adobe AfterEffects' and unlike the previous year where I only knew how to use Sony Vegas and MAGIX Pro, I believe that I am expanding my knowledge on the use of technology, and will be able to incorporate 'AfterEffects' into my arsenal.
